From the fashion vault, yes. Regardless of how old it is it's still an ad that I love. I'm so intrigued by Charlotte, with Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin for parents, why wouldn't you be intrigued?

DENIM
Does denim do it for you? Apart from still being obsessed with skinny jeans, I've recently found an affinity for denim shirts. Grungey, basic old denim shirts.
A staple in the 90's, usually worn baggy and slightly grubby over leggings and an oversized tshirt. But now denim shirts can look chic when teamed with a bold print skirt or teamed with some blingy jewels.
Wear it buttoned up to the top or buttoned down and low-cut.
Here's a few of my favourite denim shirt looks.

Denim & Opaques
Such a classic autumn/winter staple. I love the cute collar of the shirt peeking out over the knit.
This is a look i'll be recreating over & over during the colder months. Hello 200 denier tights from Primark!!

Chrissie Hynde - my 'pleather' icon
Plastic leather. One of my favourite odes to a rock-chick is leather, or in this case, pleather. If you can be bothered to battle with the sweat or bring a bottle of talc out with you then I salute you. If not, pleather's your man.
One of my most beloved style icons is Chrissie Hynde, from The Pretenders. I love her messy hair, shaggy fringe, smudged eyeliner and leather and denim. Chrissie, herself a vegetarian, would most likely never wear real leather so this is an ode to her.

There's lots of pleather (stop staying pleather!) on the high street at the moment. With denim and stretch-jersey mixes, to just plain out stretchy pleather pants. Worn with heels and some sequins for a night-time look or with a shabby tshirt and converse for a daytime grungey rock look, they're versatile and oh-so cool.
I'm going straight for the River Island ones come payday. And I will live in them.

New style fave - Keira Knightley
I was never previously a big fan of Keira Knightley's style. But recent appearances in Toronto & at the Venice Film Festival have seen her turn out some huge style hits. Perhaps she has a new stylist? Whatever's going on, me likey.

Are you a fan of Keira's style? Have there been any looks that have caught your eye? I hope this style bonanza stays for a while, it's almost taken the attention away from her perma-pout!

Inspiration - work V play
I remember a time when I had 2 very seperate wardrobes. 'Work Clothes' and 'Casual Clothes'. But now these wardrobes seemed to have morphed into one. Not necessarily a bad thing, it's mainly just a matter of training the mind to realise that wearing something to work doesn't taint it. Wearing an item of work clothing on a Saturday won't ruin my weekend. Likewise, isn't it good to make a little effort with your work attire? I work 5 days a week, with 2 days off. Do I want to look like a different person in work and out of work. Obviously there are some restraints, but hey, my personality has some restraints in work too.
My work outfits are usually some variation of a skirt and a blouse, at weekends I can go all out and team a blouse or a skirt with whatever I damn well please. Ooh, matron!
Here's my work-into-casual-morphing inspiration.

Springspiration
It's unusually warm here today, and has been the last few days. Working in an offiice during the week, it's only at weekends when I have a little freakout that my wardrobe is more autumn/winter than it is spring/summer.
Usually it's the top half that i'm lacking in appropriate wears, but at the moment it's the bottom half. Time for some new season seperates, methinks. Anyway, here's some Spring inspiration that i'll be looking to when shopping! Images via weheartit - a favourite for scouting for inspiration.
