No-spiration

I'm in a bit of a rut. I have some ideas floating around my hollow head, but they're not coming together to make a post. They're half-ideas and I need to improve on them.
What do you guys do when you can't find inspiration?
Of course there's a million, literally a MILLION, things in the shops that I could post about, but i'm afeared i'll get stuck into a rut of posting my high-street wants.
I'm heading to New York on Thursday for 6 days, so i'm sure i'll have loads to post about when I get back.
In the meantime perhaps i'll take some photos or check out some more blogs.
Feel free to make suggestions - help me out of my writer's block!!

House of Harlow - Nicole Richie and my persuit to look as good as her..

I love Nicole Richie. There. I've said it.
I loved her when it wasn't cool to love her - i.e. on The Simple Life.
I loved her with blonde hair, I love her with brunette hair.
I love her even more now she has a bit of meat on her bones and probably one of my favourite celebrity styles. Her effortless ability to look chic is something I strive to achieve and a lot of the time is down to her great eye for accessories.
This is a ring from her House Of Harlow 1960 jewellery range & is available at a number of online stores. I love it. I want it. I NEED it. I will have it.

BEHOLD! House of Harlow 1960 Abalone Sunburst Cocktail Ring

Here are a few of my fave Nicole Richie sartorial moments...just to give you an idea as to why I love her.

River Island Picks

I wandered into River Island yesterday on my lunchbreak. I went in quickly to look at a bag i'd seen a few days beforehand....but left with a list as long as my left arm of things that I want to buy come payday.
I thought i'd share a few of these items with you - they're all dresses, surprise surprise, i really need to start wearing more trousers!
River Island is a shop I loved as a teen, fell out of love with in my early 20's and is now firmly one of my must-go high street shops. It's sizes are generous and it stocks up to a size 18. And the collaborations they do yearly with recently graduated fashion students is great - it's brings a great freshness to their lines.

Anyway, here are the items I saw...and drooled over!

I love peter pan collars SOOOOO much - they're just too damn cute and manage to look stylish even when dressed down with opaque tights and flat shoes.

River Island Black Peter Pan Shift Dress

The style of this dress is timeless & sure to be flattering on most shapes. I'm envisaging wearing this for an autumn wedding.

Brown Print Midi Prom Dress

And finally...THIS! My absolute favourite of the lot. If i'm honest, this picture does NOT do it justice. I saw it on a mannequin on the shop and it falls so beautifully. The sheer fabric will look effortlessly sexy and can go from day to night with the addition of heels. It sort of reminds me of old country rock stars - think Elvis in his good looking days.

So, what do you think? Have you seen any high street items that stand out recently?

A perfect wedge..

For months now i've been searching for the perfect wedge ankle boots.
It all started last year when I (and the whole fashion blogosphere!) fell in love with these Cos wedge boots
Then of course, there were the Acne Atacoma Black Metal Wedge.

It seemed as though the whole wedge-world was out to get me. I couldn't stop thinking about them and decided NO outfit would be complete without them. However, my ever expanding credit limit, together with other whimsical buys and last minute holidays, meant that I could never quite afford either of the above.
That was until today.
Today I went into town for a few accesories and to see whatever else tickled my fancy. Looking around New Look I stumbled across my (almost) dream wedge. My accesible wedge, we'll say. They're the perfect height, leather AND suede and the little buckle gives it just the right amount of girly-tough that I look for in a shoe.
At £59.99 (translated to €79.99 on Irish shores....hmm...) I think i'll be buying these ones online. HURRY UP PAYDAY!!

Where's Your Hood At?

Whilst browsing for inspiration for a New York trip next month, I came across this BCBG Max Azria hooded dress - the neutral colour means it's versatile and will see you through a few weather seasons & the drawstring waist will prove forgiving on a bad day. PLUS, it's currently on sale in Macy's.

I realise this is a bit of a moot post as Macy's does not currently ship outside the US, but where there's a will, there's a way. The internet is a resourceful place!

Created using Polyvore - an amazing new discovery for me where you can make awesome collages. Mmmmm the sweet smell of inspiration! I'll be adding a widget to this blog for people to make their own collage.
